MARINERG-i 2nd Irish Stakeholder Workshop Cork 9th January
John Breslin, General Manager, SmartBay Ireland will attend the MARINERG-i 2nd Irish Stakeholder Workshop which takes place tomorrow, 9th January at the Beaufort Building, Cork.
The workshop aims to inform potential Irish stakeholders about our progress re: defining the RI in terms of the overall concept and vision; Ireland’s role and the governance structure; the science plan; business and financing model etc. We would very much appreciate your participation to a) ensure that our plans are consistent with stakeholder requirements and b) to secure or re-affirm your support for our application to the ESFRI roadmap.
This workshop is hosted by the MARINERG-i EU H2020 project that will produce a scientific and business plan for an integrated European Research Infrastructure, designed to facilitate the future growth and development of the Offshore Renewable Energy sector. This plan will ensure that the MARINERG-i Research Infrastructure (RI) model attains the criteria necessary for being successful in an application to European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) roadmap in 2020/2021. The MARINERG-i project is a first step in forming an independent legal entity of distributed testing infrastructures, united to create an integrated centre for delivering R&D and testing services for Offshore Renewable Energy devices and components. By consolidating expertise, investment and access to infrastructures, the MARINERG-i RI will foster innovation across a variety of technologies and stages of development. As the only integrated Offshore Renewable Energy platform of this scale worldwide, it will be the epicentre of this developing industry.
